STARS & SEND is an inclusive sports club designed for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our focus is on communication, collaboration, and adaptation, ensuring every child can enjoy and participate in sports and physical activity in a way that suits them best.

About the Role

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to support our sessions, helping children develop their skills, confidence, and love for physical activity. This role is ideal for anyone with experience in working with children, sports, or an interest in making sports and physical activity accessible for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive sessions.
• Adapt activities to meet the needs of individual children.
• Encourage teamwork, confidence, and participation.
• Provide a fun and safe environment for all.
• Set up and tidy sports equipment.
• Communicate effectively with children, young people, parents, and staff.
• Assist with occasional light admin work such as photo taking or social media updates.

Requirements

• Passion for working with children and making physical activity accessible.
• Ability to adapt activities and provide individualised support.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
• DBS check on the update service and up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent references.
