Starrycare is seeking dedicated and reliable Domestic Staff / Housekeepers to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort across our client sites. The role is essential in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for residents, service users, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain rooms, communal areas, kitchens, and bathrooms to a high standard
- Follow cleaning schedules and infection control procedures
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly
- Dispose of waste in line with health and safety guidelines
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly
- Replenish cleaning supplies and linen as required
- Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing, and folding
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of residents and service users
Qualifications
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Understanding of cleaning, hygiene, and infection control standards
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to undergo background checks (DBS) if required
Requirements
- Previous experience in domestic, housekeeping, or cleaning roles is an advantage but not essential
- NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Cleaning, Health & Social Care, or a related field
- Experience working in care homes, hospitals, hotels, or supported living environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings if required
