Starrycare is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to deliver high-quality, nutritious, and well-presented meals across our client sites. The role involves planning, preparing, and cooking meals that meet dietary, nutritional, and cultural requirements while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present meals to a high standard
  • Plan menus in line with nutritional guidelines and client requirements
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and stock rotation
  • Supervise and support Catering Assistants and kitchen staff
  • Monitor portion control and minimise food waste
  • Ensure correct use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery, Catering, or equivalent
  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (Level 3 preferred)
  • Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and health & safety regulations
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to undergo background checks (DBS)
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in care homes, hospitals, or contract catering
  • Ability to plan and deliver meals for large numbers
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead a kitchen team
  • Excellent attention to detail and presentation
  • Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
