As a Senior Product Designer at StarRez, you’ll lead the design of intuitive, effective, and accessible experiences across our web and mobile platforms. You’ll operate with a high degree of ownership, shaping problem definition, influencing product strategy, and driving design decisions that balance user needs, technical constraints, and business outcomes.
You’ll plan and lead research and discovery activities: interviews, workshops, and usability testing, translating insights into prototypes and high-fidelity designs that solve real customer problems. Working closely with Product Managers and Engineers, you’ll influence the direction of your product area and help deliver measurable impact. You’ll also play a key role in elevating design quality, practices, and standards across the organization.
Travel: 5% (The percentage of travel is an estimate and could vary depending on business needs.)
This role reports to the Director, Design.
What You Will Own
- Work within a cross-functional team to discover and translate user needs and business goals into intuitive and accessible experiences.
- Own design problems from discovery through to final delivery, iterating with data and feedback.
- Lead user research and discovery efforts, including interviews, usability testing, journey mapping, and synthesis, ensuring insights directly inform product strategy and execution.
- Lead and contribute to end-to-end product design, from discovery and wireframes to high-fidelity mock-ups and implementation to elevate our platform experience.
- Identify, set and measure design metrics to measure the success of your designs.
- Contribute to and evolve our design system, partner with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation.
- Champion accessibility by embedding inclusive design practices and ensuring experiences meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Facilitate workshops, critiques, and collaborative sessions to align teams and stakeholders.
- Communicate design vision and rationale clearly and confidently to a wide range of stakeholders, influencing decision-making through evidence and insight.
- Act as a design leader within the team by mentoring peers, modeling strong design thinking, and helping raise the overall design bar.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional product design experience in SaaS or B2B environments.
- Proven ability to lead design work for complex, ambiguous problem spaces with minimal direction.
- Strong foundations in interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.
- Ability to think strategically while still delivering pixel-perfect execution.
- Deep experience with discovery and research methods, including synthesis and translating insights into actionable design decisions.
- Expert proficiency with Figma for prototyping, interaction design, and high-fidelity design.
- Strong track record of effective cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions, tradeoffs, and impact to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proactive, outcome-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in startups or scale-ups.
- Hands-on experience with WCAG and assistive tech or accessibility testing practices.
- Experience contributing to or scaling design systems in growing product organizations.
