Roles and Responsibilities Risk & Control Self-Assessment Assist the business in developing risk and control registers, supporting the identification and analysis of key risks and controls. Critically assess and challenge the risk and control registers of each function to ensure they provide value and assurance to senior management. Embed the quarterly RCSA attestation programme. Collaborate with the business, Compliance, and Audit to develop and maintain testing programmes to validate attestations from risk and control owners. Risk Framework Develop and maintain Board risk appetite statements with key metrics aligned to the risk profile of Starr\’s legal entities. Implement risk appetite breach monitoring and ensure appropriate actions following breaches of alert limits or thresholds. Coordinate and report on top and emerging risks, challenging management responses as needed. Manage the annual Lloyd’s Principles business attestation process. Draft and maintain risk policies and procedures related to the risk function and ERM framework. Ensure prompt analysis, reporting, and management of risk events, identifying root causes and addressing issues cost-effectively. Maintain data integrity in the risk database system, promoting business ownership and usage through training and support. Conduct thematic reviews of business activities that pose threats or opportunities to strategy or risk appetite. Support stress and scenario testing frameworks, providing analysis for ORSA and reporting processes. Reporting Deliver insightful, clear, and relevant risk reports to governance committees and business functions, aligned with TORs. Coordinate the ORSA process and prepare annual ORSA reports for Starr’s legal entities. Experience Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience. Understanding of regulatory expectations. Knowledge of the London market and Lloyd’s practices is preferable but not essential. Qualifications Numeracy degree or professional risk management qualification preferred.
