We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as an Investment Operations Technical Analyst within the Investment Operations team, part of the Asset Management function. This role will suit those with strong analytical skills and a solutions-oriented approach.
Job Type: Permanent
Location and flexible working: This role is based in our Edinburgh office, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. We support flexible working arrangements and will discuss your preferences during the recruitment process.
Salary and benefits: £30,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience) + Asset Management bonus, pension scheme, private medical insurance, electric vehicle scheme, 38 days holiday including Bank Holidays, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, volunteering days, and more.

Team / Function Context
The Investment Operations team in Edinburgh manages the daily administration and oversight of approximately 1,300 unit-linked funds, valued at around £125bn, for our UK and European brands. This function is crucial for delivering excellent customer service and operational excellence.
The Role
We seek individuals with a talent for problem-solving and analytical thinking. The successful candidate will work collaboratively, building relationships with stakeholders within Phoenix Group, outsourced suppliers, and external partners. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support and oversight for daily fund pricing, including interaction with fund accountants.
- Reviewing outputs from box management processes to ensure they meet customer and group expectations.
- Conducting scheduled reviews of operational processes to ensure compliance and risk management.
- Implementing controls and risk mitigation strategies to benefit our customers and shareholders.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong analytical skills in resolving issues within daily unit-linked operations.
- Judgment and decision-making skills under time constraints, with clear communication to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level).
- Proactive learning about investments and asset management trends.
Desirable:
- Understanding of investment operations, including custody and fund valuation.
- Knowledge of SQL; training will be provided.
