Programme Overview

Starr offers a 9‑week summer internship with our Actuarial team in London, starting Monday 22 June 2026 and concluding Friday 21 August 2026. The programme aims to expose interns to the London insurance market through on‑the‑job learning, self‑study and tailored training courses.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Actuarial team on various projects and ad‑hoc work.
  • Assist in the quarterly receiving processes.
  • Help with development and testing of pricing models.
  • Analyse and present data to support business decision‑making.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Available to start on 22 June 2026 and commit to the full 9 weeks until 21 August 2026.
  • Available to work full‑time from September 2027 or sooner.
  • Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship offered.
  • Must be willing to travel to the City of London for onsite work.
  • Interest in becoming an actuary or pursuing a career in insurance.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem‑solving and numeracy skills.
  • Data processing experience and time‑management skills.
  • Pro‑active, self‑starter who takes accountability for their work.
