We are recruiting for the latest member of our leadership team within Mortgage Lending. Working with the Mortgage Lending ambitious corporate plan, can you inspire and engage the team to demonstrate the Society's culture encompassing core values and behaviours? Ensuring the customer is at the heart of everything we do, can you ensure the team understand what is expected of them to deliver our lending strategy and agreed service levels?

You will be joining the Mortgage Lending leadership team consisting of 8 Supervisors and 3 senior leaders. We together support over 120 colleagues who underwrite and complete mortgage applications, helping customers own their own home. The customer is at the heart of everything we do whilst ensuring the right decisions are made for both Skipton and the customer. The world of mortgages is fast paced and always evolving so it’s important we ensure we maintain a focus on our lending strategy whilst enhancing service with process efficiencies.

What Will You Be Doing? The role is key in ensuring the teams have the support, and are inspired and engaged with the Society's culture, whilst supporting the delivery of our lending strategy. Ensuring the team understand what is expected of them, having key objectives and measures in place ensures service standards are met or exceed customers' expectations. Working collaboratively with your peers and key stakeholders, identify processing efficiencies, develop the team, and communicate our successes.
What Do We Need From You? The ideal candidate will demonstrate within our behavioural framework; strong communication skills with the ability to challenge and ensure performance is managed in line with the Society's culture. Having the ability to support a team through coaching and sharing knowledge and best practices ensuring the team works efficiently and encourages further development and career progression. Experience of leading and developing others through coaching, training and performance management is required with knowledge of the mortgage industry being an advantage.
