We provide modern digital features and efficient back-office processes to help banks, building societies and credit unions innovate and scale. Engine is headquartered in London with offices worldwide, and this role is based in London. Our hybrid working approach supports collaboration with teams across multiple locations.
We follow five guiding principles: listen, keep it simple, do the right thing, own it, and aim for greatness. Since launching in 2022, we have adopted an agile mindset and foster an environment where colleagues and partners can design, build and collaborate openly with ownership and empowerment.
About The Role
This role offers the opportunity to create the foundations for Engine\’s Business Development team to scale strategically across Europe. You will meet potential clients, understand their needs, and define a value proposition based on research. You will enable Engine\’s partners and internal stakeholders by tailoring approaches to Southern, Northern and Central Eastern European markets. The role suits a proactive, creative individual who enjoys variety and a hands-on, analytical, collaborative position to support Europe-focused business development.
You will provide research-based and operational support to the European Business Development team, solving problems and helping banks launch innovative propositions. The role also offers growth opportunities to take greater ownership over a domain across client-facing activities, marketing initiatives, research or delivery.
What You’ll Get To Do

- Identifying and contributing to marketing activities and conferences to raise Engine\’s brand awareness and market positioning
- Collaborating with Business Development Consultants to lead enablement sessions for implementation partners across the continent, designing resources and collateral while identifying market opportunities through research
- Taking ownership of selected strategic opportunities and continuously developing skills
- Understanding and distilling client needs and ambitions, ensuring clear communication and alignment across the organisation, with records in our CRM
- Contributing to Engine\’s go-to-market strategy across Southern, Northern and Central Eastern Europe using quantitative and qualitative research
- Problem solving: conducting structured analysis and presentations to show how Engine can address banks\’ issues
- Preparing strategic and reporting documentation for the Engine board
Future development
We aim to develop future leaders by offering movement between teams, supporting growth in Business Development, Product Management, Delivery and Engineering. As we expand internationally, there may be opportunities to move to new roles or locations after an initial period in Business Development.
