About The Role
Here at Starling, we are growing, and we are keen to recruit an Information Security Analyst to join our Threat Intelligence team as part of our continued investment in Information and Cyber Security capability. Reporting to the Information Security Lead - Cyber Threat Intelligence.

As a threat intelligence analyst, you'll play an integral role in safeguarding our customers and our business from ever-evolving threats. This dynamic position empowers you to identify, analyse and mitigate cyber-enabled risks, utilising novel technologies and frameworks. The threat intelligence analyst will provide actionable insights and support project-based defensive strategies, ensuring that Starling Bank is protected.
What You'll Get To Do
- Maintain and stay abreast with the current understanding of the cyber threat landscape with a focus on the fintech sector.
- Execute and produce written reports and provide verbal threat briefings that capture the relevance of external threats for Starling Bank.
- Support the Threat Intelligence lead with the threat intelligence strategy.
- Ability to execute all areas of the intelligence cycle through triage, analysis and response to alerts generated via technology platforms.
- Understand threat actors, tactics techniques and procedures (TTPs) whilst providing the so what for Starling Bank and its environment.
- Prepare and deliver reports with comprehensive risk and impact assessments.
- Produce high-quality assessments and reports across strategic, operational and tactical intelligence using an all-source methodology to inform security functions.
- Ability to support the incident response process.
- Engage with Cyber Security industry peers to enable and strengthen Starling Banks security posture.
- Enable and support external relationships with government and law enforcement agencies.
- Support the Security Operations with contextualised threat analysis and detection recommendations.
Requirements
Essential skills:
- Passionate and resilient.
- Experience in analysis and intelligence or investigations.
- Experience in using analytical tools and software for Threat Intelligence.
- Understanding and knowledge of intelligence flows, principles and processes.
- Experience working with/alongside Cyber Security functions.
- Clear understanding of Cyber Threat Intelligence.
- Understanding of automation or data analytics.
- Articulate with strong written communication skills.
- Excellent problem solver with the ability to conduct thorough research and analysis.
- Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Innovative thinker with the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.
- Highly skilled in researching, interpreting and developing inferences from multiple intelligence products.
It would be great if you have one or more of the following qualifications, but it's not essential:
- Crest Registered Threat Intelligence Analyst (CRTIA).
- CREST Practitioner Threat Intelligence Analyst (CPTIA).
- FOR578: Cyber Threat Intelligence.

- First Interview: 45 minutes.
- Technical Interview: 90 minutes.
