We’re a fully licensed UK bank with the culture and spirit of a fast-moving, disruptive tech company.
We’re a bank, but better: fairer, easier to use and designed to demystify money for everyone.
Starling Bank is powered by Engine, the banking platform we built ourselves and which we are now rolling out to other banks around the world.
We employ more than 3,500 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.
We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our growing tax team.

This will include supporting a wide range of tax projects, international expansion projects, and managing tax compliance and tax risk.
This is an exciting time to be joining Starling Bank given its growth trajectory to date and its ambitious expansion plans in both the UK and internationally.
You will support these plans from a tax compliance and reporting perspective.

- Support the organisation and wider tax team by taking a leading role in tax risk management and governance, including overseeing and improving the VAT and corporation tax control frameworks.
- Liaison between the finance and tax teams, as required across the taxes.
- A strong indirect and direct tax compliance and accounting background, gained in practice and/or industry.
- Experience of international taxes and banking taxes would be an advantage.
- Enthusiasm and a drive to expand your knowledge in new areas is as important as experience.
- Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CTA with at least five years professional experience.
- A self-starter and independent worker with strong interpersonal skills.
- Well organised with the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines with attention to detail.
- A practical and commercial approach to problem solving, and the ability to communicate complex tax matters to both a tax and non-tax audience.
