Overview
Engine by Starling is a hybrid-working, engineering-led company focused on delivering SaaS technology to banks and financial institutions worldwide. We are seeking to transform banking in different markets through our modern, built-from-scratch technology that powers Starling Bank and now serves external clients as a standalone business.
We are expanding our Marketing and Business Development team with a Creative Designer who will support the Senior Graphic Designer and communicate the Engine proposition through design across websites, social channels, events, PR, collateral and product demo videos, as well as sales pitches. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK’s most exciting B2B SaaS technology companies.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Business Development team to craft visuals and content for proposals, demos, white papers and collateral that communicate the Engine proposition. Includes creating static and motion visuals.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and refresh website pages, ensure design works across devices, measure performance using data (page load time, clicks), and translate product promotions and thought leadership to social media.
- Develop concepts for international and regional brand campaigns and activations (sponsorships, event series, partnerships).
- As the second Creative Designer on the team, help build and apply the brand consistently across internal and external communications, evolve brand guidelines, and create templates for the wider team and for merchandise and events.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on design experience within a technology-driven startup or with B2B technology companies in agency or in-house roles.
- General design skillset covering digital design (Figma), motion (After Effects), and print design (InDesign).
- Ability to demystify complex subjects with design to create compelling, converting presentation slides with technical product content.
- Confidence presenting work and openness to feedback; interest in FinTech and a creative mindset to stand out.
- A strategic mindset with aspirations to contribute to a leading UK B2B SaaS technology company.
Interview Process
- Initial video interview with BD/Marketing team – 45 mins
- In-depth interview with Head of Marketing – 60 mins
- Final interview with Chief Commercial Officer – ~45 minutes
