We're seeking a Business Lending Product Manager who has a deep understanding of Business Credit Cards from acquisition through to lifecycle management. You will be someone who has launched a Business Credit Cards or manages an existing product. For this newly created role, we're looking for an ambitious and results-driven individual who is keen to build market-leading and innovative products for our SME customers. Responsibilities
- Build and launch of new products
- Design and build compelling propositions for business lending products. Starting with a Business Credit Card, ensuring the end-to-end journey is compliant, innovative and meets the bank's commercial objectives
- Build a business lending roadmap that reflects the needs of SME customers and aligns with Starling Bank's overall SME strategy
- Portfolio management
- Define, monitor and forecast the lending portfolio targets
- Identify and implement improvements to the underlying P&L of the portfolio (e.g. pricing)
- Manage the existing unsecured business lending backbook
- Collaboration & matrix management
- Work cross-functionally with technology, digital product, risk, compliance and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of new business lending products and initiatives
- Foster strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to influence decision-making and achieve shared objectives
- Regulatory compliance & risk management
- Complete annual product reviews and manage the ongoing governance of the product
- Partner with second-line risk and compliance teams to ensure business lending products meet regulatory requirements and align with Starling's risk appetite
- Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Operational excellence
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless customer experiences across business lending products
- Monitor operational performance and customer feedback, driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Customer advocacy
- Act as the voice of the customer within the business, ensuring business lending solutions are simple, accessible and valuable for solopreneurs, micropreneurs and SMEs
- Partner with marketing and customer support teams to effectively promote business lending products throughout the full lifecycle
Qualifications Experience
- Demonstrable expertise in product management within banking or fintech, with a strong focus on Credit Cards and wider business lending (e.g. Overdrafts or Term Loans)
- A track record of maintaining a P&L and iterating on underwriting or credit processes to grow a lending portfolio
- Proven experience in building, launching and managing products, with a strong record of leading cross-functional projects or matrix-managing resources

- Deep understanding of SME customers and their varied lending needs
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Solid knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements related to business lending, including ongoing product governance and risk management
