We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our growing water engineering team in Manchester. You will be responsible for producing high-quality civil engineering design deliverables across a range of regulated water industry projects, working from outline through to detailed design. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer looking to take ownership of design packages, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technically challenging infrastructure and non-infrastructure schemes.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce civil design deliverables in line with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and design risk assessments
- Carry out hydraulic calculations and develop hydraulic profiles
- Ensure designs comply with relevant technical standards, professional guidelines, and water company requirements
- Manage and implement design changes, ensuring full traceability and documentation
- Direct, support, and develop CAD technicians
- Work in accordance with formal processes and procedures
- Assist with estimating design hours and resource requirements
- Attend and present at design reviews, project meetings, and client presentations
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years design experience within the regulated water industry
- Experience in hydraulic calculations and water-related civil designs
- Degree, HND, or equivalent experience (including progression from Technician level)
- Strong IT skills and experience using engineering design software
- Registered with a relevant professional body and working towards Chartership
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Engineer (or close to achieving chartership)
- Experience in both clean water and wastewater projects
- Background in infrastructure and non-infrastructure design
- Experience delivering outline and detailed design stages
- Awareness of construction methods, materials, and buildability
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawing practices
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
