This role is an integral part of the Stark Connect Ltd Metering team. The main purpose is to carry out metering tasks including those of a complex technical nature to meet time, cost and quality targets to satisfy business and customer service requirements, and to provide technical support to the team.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Install, maintain, remove and replace WC metering equipment.
  • Undertake complex tests and inspections on installations.
  • Undertake remote testing of metering equipment.
  • Investigate dangerous occurrences and resolve customer problems.
  • Work on nonstandard and other Distribution Business equipment.
  • Carry out work on installations.
  • Must be prepared to work on projects nationwide.
  • Provide technical explanation to the team and customers.
  • Participate in regular training/learning activities to maintain and develop skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to all Stark policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and co‑operate with managers to provide safe systems of work.

    • Trained, authorised and experienced in single and three‑phase meter installation.
    • Hold EUSR authorisation preferred.
    • Experience in Half Hourly, AMR and SMETS metering.
    • Prepared to travel and work away from home.
    • IEE wiring regulations knowledge.
    • Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
    • Keep up to date with advances in business area, new methods and ways of working.
    • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
    • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Confident and accurate use of departmental computer systems/databases.
