To provide a high-quality Software Systems Testing and Software Engineering function and ensure all team key performance indicators are followed.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for testing Stark software systems, including system testing, integration testing and regression testing to ensure the highest quality software prior to release, as well as load testing and security testing of the systems.
  • Understanding requirements. Review business and technical requirements, identify test conditions and scenarios and clarify requirements with stakeholders.
  • Devise test plans and document all test activities carried out using X-ray in Jira.
  • Work alongside the Development team in the continual development of Stark Systems.
  • Manage defects and actively liaise with the Development team when required to help resolve any failed tests in a prompt fashion.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners and business analysts.
  • Ensure all work items are updated in line with the agile development environment using Jira and participate in Agile ceremonies where required.
  • Carry out testing of meters and the collection systems when requested and liaising with the Operations Technical Team as required.
  • Where required testing will be carried out on any Stark software systems, including but not limited to Starks MHHS Data Services, StarkID Stark Zero, Stark Reality, Workflow Online, Gas Systems and MOP console to customers, both internal and external.
  • Configure Stark software systems, including MHHS Data Services, StarkID, Stark Zero, Stark Reality and Gas Systems.
  • Interact with MHHS, StarkID, collection and CRM databases where required.
  • Follow guidelines and procedures as set out in the Testing Procedures.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Testing Procedures as and when required.
  • Attend and proactively contribute to Development, Testing and any other internal meetings when required.
  • Participate in regular training/learning activities to maintain and develop skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to all Stark policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and co-operate with managers to provide safe systems of work.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.
