At Jewson, part of STARK Building Materials UK, we are looking for a Sales Advisor to join the friendly and supportive team at our branch in Paignton. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, providing expert advice, and helping customers find the right solutions for their projects. Whether you have experience in a builders' merchant or come from a retail, trade, customer service or sales background, we would love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering outstanding service to trade and retail customers, both face-to-face and over the phone
- Building strong customer relationships by understanding customer needs and recommending the right products and solutions
- Identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services
- Processing customer orders accurately and ensuring they are fulfilled efficiently
- Developing new customer accounts while maintaining existing and lapsed customer relationships
- Working in other areas of the branch as and when needed
- Working closely with suppliers and colleagues to deliver the best possible customer experience
- Supporting stock control, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised branch
- Following company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on health and safety
Working Hours:
This is a part-time role working 27 hours a week (with additional hours to cover holidays, illness etc). Hours will be worked across Monday - Friday, and every other Saturday. Exact working patterns will be discussed at interview.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience in a customer service or sales role
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience
- Experience within a builders' merchant or knowledge of building materials would be an advantage, but it is not essential.
