What You’ll Be Doing

To design and deliver effective local and organisational-wide learning programs across our network. Create practical learning and development frameworks for colleagues, specifically a comprehensive induction and ongoing development programme that enhances product knowledge, customer service, compliance, and leadership capabilities. Work with subject matter experts, HR, and operational leaders to define and align on best in sector learning experiences for our colleagues.

  • Can facilitate building a future-focused vision of what good needs to look like.
  • Consolidate and align multiple stakeholder needs to align and agree the definition and scope of the problem we are trying to solve.
  • Act as a trusted Advisor, with the organisation and colleague impact in mind, considering the root cause on performance gaps and barriers to change.
  • Interrogate and connect relevant business data to create insight into the current position and measure the impact on performance, engagement and productivity.
  • Develop a scalable knowledge framework that outlines how product knowledge is built over time, with clear milestones and progression paths aligned to specific job roles and responsibilities.
  • Design and implement a structured induction and post-induction programme that equips branch colleagues with the knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed, covering product knowledge, customer service, and compliance.
  • Create and curate engaging learning content using a blend of e-learning, face-to-face and remote training, mentoring, shadowing, and supplier-led sessions to ensure a rich and practical learning experience.
  • Design and develop interactive e-learning modules using tools like Articulate Storyline, incorporating multimedia, quizzes, and branching scenarios.
  • Collaborate closely with L&D colleagues, subject matter experts, branch teams, local HR, and operational leaders to ensure learning solutions are relevant, site-specific, and aligned with business needs.
  • Engage regularly with category assistants to maintain up-to-date product knowledge, support the rollout of category plans, and ensure that learning content reflects seasonal priorities, promotional activity, and strategic commercial goals.
  • Work with external suppliers and partners where appropriate to enhance the quality and depth of learning content, particularly in relation to product immersion and specialist knowledge.
  • Embed the learning framework as a long-term development tool that supports continuous improvement and capability building across the branch network.
  • Ensure all learning design is practical, measurable, and focused on improving performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
