JOB PURPOSE

The Lead Commercial Services Analyst is responsible for driving the analysis, governance, and operational effectiveness of commercial services activity across the business. The role supports category teams, branch operations, and pricing functions through the delivery of robust commercial analysis, reporting, and pricing support. Working closely with category assistants, branch operations, and the wider pricing team, the role ensures commercial decisions are data-led, aligned to market conditions, and delivered through consistent, scalable, and commercially effective processes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in commercial analysis
  • A relevant degree or qualification is advantageous
  • Advanced MS Excel skills are crucial to be a success in this role
  • A working knowledge of Power Bi would be advantageous
  • A strong administrative background
  • Ability to interrogate data, mainly using Excel (expert Excel skills is advantageous)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and PowerPoint

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Deliver structured data analysis across the Category and Indirect Procurement functions, producing reporting on commercial activity including spend analysis, supplier performance, competitive market analysis (including GfK), pricing trends, price movements, and savings delivery.
  • Produce GfK and related market performance dashboards, providing clear insights and actionable analysis to support commercial decision-making.
  • Lead key input indices reporting for the UK in collaboration with the wider STARK Sourcing teams across European business units.
  • Provide guidance and support to category assistants to ensure reporting accuracy, data integrity, and consistent analytical standards.
  • Maintain close alignment with the wider pricing team to ensure consistency across commercial, category, and pricing functions, while ensuring contract support levels remain aligned with inflationary and market movements.
  • Produce monthly dashboard reporting for the Category and Indirect Procurement functions.

COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The role will require the individual to collaborate with various stakeholders across departments related to Category and Indirect Procurement, including but not limited to Finance, IT, Property, HR, Marketing, Legal, Logistics, and Compliance.
