We are looking to engage an Interim Business Analyst to support the discovery, definition, and shaping of data and analytics initiatives, ensuring clear requirements and actionable outputs to enable delivery, test and benefits realisation for a period of 12-months, therefore you will be available to commence immediately.

Our key focus areas are as follows:

  • Review, assessment and implementation of Databricks to replace Synapse and Informatica pipelines and notebooks
  • Carbon reporting tool for customer use
  • Discovery and shaping of additional data initiatives (may include automated quotations, dynamic pricing, product enrichment)

You will be responsible for:

  • Discovery & Requirements Gathering
    • Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops
    • Capture and document business requirements, including data/information requirements
    • Identify business pain points, process inefficiencies, and system opportunities
  • Requirements Definition
    • Formalise and gain approval for functional and non-functional requirements for data initiatives
    • Support prioritisation of requirements based on business value
  • Data & Reporting Analysis
    • Analyse and document current data pipelines and data flows
    • Assess current reporting landscape
    • Support definition of future-state reporting approach (e.g. Power BI, SQL Server)
    • Contribute to evaluation of data platform capabilities (e.g. Databricks), including, where necessary, vendor selection criteria
  • Process & Solution Shaping
    • Support definition of future-state data flows
    • Identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, and automation
    • Work with technical teams to ensure feasibility and align options with business requirements
    • Work with business stakeholders to explain how their requirements are met (or not) by the selected solution
  • Documentation & Handover
    • Produce clear, concise documentation to support delivery
    • Ensure requirements are ready for the Delivery team
    • Support transition from discovery into delivery

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst ideally in data, IT environments or a complex business environment.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous, evolving scope
  • Experience with reporting and data platforms (e.g. Power BI, Databricks, Synapse, Informatica, Phocas)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
  • Clear and structured documentation capability
