Do you have a passion for working with people? Are you based in the Barnstaple area? Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is looking for a Tool Hire Assistant who's as passionate about great service as we are. No experience required, full training provided!
As a Tool Hire Assistant at Jewson, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service. As part of the role, you will be required to drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 07:00-16:30 or 7:30-17:00, with the requirement of working every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resource to ensure efficient, effective and safe operations.
- Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction, supporting the team to maximise growth through pro-active cross selling.
- Deliver and collect customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring orders are accurate and all equipment is secured and loaded/offloaded safely in accordance with company procedures.
- Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire product.
- Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure tools and machinery are clean, safe, and fully operational.
- Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and record keeping.
- Inspect, test, and carry out basic repairs on a range of tools and small plant (e.g., breakers, saws, mixers, access equipment).
