We have an exciting opportunity for a Tool Hire Assistant at our Stockport branch! At Jewson, part of Stark UK, we believe that our greatest asset is our people. This is a part-time (30 hours) role working between Monday-Friday 7:00am - 16:30pm, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00. We are flexible with the hours and happy to work around your needs.

As part of the role, you will be required to drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential. The role of a Tool Hire Assistant is a busy and productive role in the depot. Whilst the role brings responsibility, it’s a perfect opportunity for you to build a career with us, where you can learn from those around you and develop.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Performing basic electrical and functionality testing as well as servicing and cleaning products returned from hire to ensure they are safe and presentable, ready for the next customer to take away.
  • Develop great relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their needs, and providing advice and solutions so that you can deliver the best experience possible.
  • Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise tool hire delivery and collection, keeping customers updated throughout their journey.
  • Delivering and collecting tools and plant, following all company policies.
  • Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire products.
  • Ensure tool hire standards are always maintained.
  • Ensure inventory and availability levels are appropriate to meet customer needs, collaborating across the local network.
  • Work according to Health & Safety.
