This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:30-17:00, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of the branch, stepping in to lead the team whenever required.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing expert advice to deliver outstanding service.
  • Driving sales by developing new business, growing existing accounts and re-engaging lapsed customers.
  • Coaching, motivating and developing colleagues to create a high-performing, customer-focused team.
  • Using local market knowledge to identify opportunities and support branch sales and profitability.
  • Ensuring the branch operates safely, efficiently and in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Managing stock, coordinating customer deliveries and helping maintain excellent product availability.
  • Monitoring branch performance against key targets, including sales, margin, customer satisfaction and operational compliance.
  • Championing Health & Safety and creating a positive culture where colleagues and customers come first.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in a sales or supervisory role, ideally within the building materials, merchanting or trade sector.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Experience leading, coaching or supporting a team to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities to grow sales and improve branch performance.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to influence, motivate and manage challenging situations.
  • Organised with good IT skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and operational compliance.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential. Forklift licence, people management experience and knowledge of building materials are advantageous.
