Jewson a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Yard Supervisor who\’s as passionate about great service as we are.
We provide a fulfilling and enjoyable work environment with ample opportunities for career growth, along with a competitive salary, staff discount, life assurance, and 3 3 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)
Hours – 7.30 – 5.00 Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8-12
Key Responsibilities
Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
Ensure your team are set up for the day, including delivery drivers with route planning
Help to process and prepare customer orders – load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided!)
Work as a direct support the management team and act as a keyholder when needed
Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
Maintain stock levels in both the warehouse and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

Required Skills and Experience
Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
A positive team player who is a strong and inclusive leader
A genuine enthusiasm for dealing with customers, and a ‘customer 1st’ attitude
Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S
Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
