We are recruiting for a Mill Operative to join the successful, supportive team at our Belfast, Springfield Rd store.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Operating a variety of woodworking machinery such as wall-saw, edge bander, glue press, rip-saw and planer
  • Modification and finishing of washroom systems e.g. lipping, adjusting, trimming/cutting down sheet materials
  • Adherence to EHS standards by ensuring work area is kept tidy, work area is cleaned daily, machinery is rigorously maintained

Working Hours:

Monday - Thursday 07.30 - 16.15 and Friday 07.30 - 13.00 and overtime as and when needed.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Proven experience in a timber mill
  • Proven ability to operate machinery, setting the correct specifications with minimal supervision
  • The ability to work on own initiative
  • The ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills

It would be great if you also have:

  • Prior use of an edge bander, glue press, wall-saw and planers (Desirable)
  • Prior experience of washroom, woodworking and production (Desirable)
  • Relevant woodwork machinery qualification (Desirable)

These are desirable skills or experience and are not essential, so we would welcome applications from candidates that don’t match this additional criteria.
