Trade Counter Sales Assistant at STARK Building Materials UK
Overview
Our team in Derry are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Customer Service Advisor who prides themselves on delivering first class service and who can really make a difference. In this customer facing role, you will be responsible for contributing to and exceeding customer expectations, whilst supporting the achievement of sales and profit targets through upselling and cross-selling products.
JP Corry, part of STARK Building Materials UK, is a leading Builders Merchants in Northern Ireland known for providing excellent quality and service in the supply of building materials and timber-based products. We offer a supportive environment with opportunities for career growth, a competitive salary, staff discount, life assurance, and 34 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays). Closing date: Wednesday 13th August.
Responsibilities
- Provide an exceptional level of customer service to all customers, building relationships face to face and over the phone, and responding promptly to online/ecommerce inquiries.
- Identify and generate sales opportunities for the full range of JP Corry products.
- Provide realistic quotations to meet customer and business needs.
- Maintain a high standard of store housekeeping.
- Develop new and promotional product lines.
- Carry out cash transactions, refunds, and till procedures accurately in line with branch procedures.
- Ensure sufficient levels of stock on the shop floor and order more as required.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
Suitable Applicants Will Ideally Be/Have
- Passionate about delivering a first-class customer service experience and know what great service looks and feels like.
- Proven experience in a face-to-face sales and customer service role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player.
- Proficient IT skills and good computer literacy and telephone skills.
- Experience with web sales, e-commerce and social media.
- Ideally knowledge/experience of the construction/building materials industry.
