This developmental HR Officer role is designed for a graduate with over two years of HR experience, offering a unique opportunity to work across the full spectrum of HR disciplines within a multi-site trade merchanting business.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll support the HR Director, Director of Organisation Development, and the Support Functions HR team in delivering the Support Functions People Plan. With rotations across operational HR teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience in:
- Strategic Support: Work closely with senior HR leaders to support the delivery of the Support Functions People Plan.
- Operational HR Activities: Provide first-line HR support to managers and employees across support functions and operational sites.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Support recruitment campaigns for support function roles and branch-level vacancies.
- Learning & Development: Assist in the planning and delivery of training programmes.
- Reward & Recognition: Support pay and benefits administration and contribute to recognition and wellbeing initiatives.
- HR Data & Projects: Maintain accurate HR records and contribute to reporting and analysis.
Essential What We’re Looking For
- Degree in HR, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an HR role.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work across multiple sites and functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5
- Experience in trade merchanting, retail, or logistics.
- Exposure to organisational development or project work.
- Experience working with Workday.
- Driving License
