The primary purpose of the EHS Advisor role is to provide professional, efficient support to STARK UK brands and their personnel, through the provision of sound advice, guidance, and the delivery of proactive and reactive EHS operational support services, EHS tools, monitoring, training, coaching and the professional handling of daily operational challenges including accident management and liaison with enforcing authorities.

- To support the EHS Manager in achieving STARK UK improvement objectives.
- Be the embodiment of high standards and aspirations for the very best EHS performance that our businesses can achieve.
- Be an advocate for values-based leadership to ensure we have EHS at the core of successful business.
- Travel at short notice in response to business need to provide excellent internal customer service.
- Be able to demonstrate leadership on policy, procedures and standards for EHS excellence.
- Provide challenge and guidance to businesses to continually promote the EHS agenda.
- Deliver analysis and critique via intelligence and data provision to guide operations accurately and consistently in making focussed improvements from risk prioritisations.
- Participate and contribute to a vibrant, informed network of EHS professionals, promoting learning, sharing and ensuring continual professional development.
- The role demands energy, drive, mobility and a determination to succeed and continually improve standards by communication, presentation and influencing skills.
What you\’ll need to have:
- Experience in an environment, health and safety role
- Has a track record of reliability and quality assurance in delivering significant and continual improvements.
- Maintains a deep and evolving knowledge of developments in EHS and wellbeing.
- An evidenced ability to successfully persuade key stakeholders of the need for and merits of, environmental, health, safety and wellbeing improvements whilst remaining pragmatic regarding change management, business profit performance priorities and the pace of improvements.
- Evidence of successfully working with key stakeholders
- Has sound experience in successfully delivering EHS objectives and converting EHS regulatory requirements or theoretical principles into effective, practical solutions for busy Builders Merchant or office workplace environments.
- Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, accreditation systems, and a holder of a NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent recognised qualification as a minimum.
- Full, clean UK Driving license essential.
