JPS specialise in providing solutions and building materials for our customers in the Public Sector such as Housing Associations and Local Authorities.
We\'re on the hunt for a multiskilled Customer & Warehouse Assistant to join the team in our current branch in Penicuik, which will then be relocating to Stenhouse, Edinburgh at the end of July time to a bigger and better site!

  • Working Hours: 8am–5pm Monday to Friday (permanent, full time position)
  • Location: JPS, Unit 3, Eastfield Industrial Estate, Penicuik, Midlothian, EH26 8HA
  • Branch relocating to Stenhouse, Edinburgh EH11 3XX at end of June
  • Please note - a full, manual driving license is a requirement of this role
Key Responsibilities
This is a busy and varied role working with a great team. You\'ll cover warehouse and trade counter duties and a portion of our outgoing customer deliveries. You\'ll interact with customers on a daily basis and ensure that the best service is always demonstrated to them.
  • Get to know our product lines so you can offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all customer interactions
  • Pick and prepare customer orders in our warehouse in a timely manner
  • Load and unload customer and supplier vehicles
  • Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products and carry out regular stock counts
  • Process customer orders at the trade counter, arrange deliveries and update customers on their orders
  • Act as a relief delivery driver - safely unload at customer specified sites using our 3.5t van
  • Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers
  • Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and your team safe at work

Required Skills And Experience
  • A full UK manual driving license, held for a minimum of 1 year, with no more than 6 points
  • Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Stellar communication and people skills
  • IT literate
  • Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
