We are a friendly and collaborative team, passionate about what we do and committed to doing it well. We are searching for a PMO Analyst to join our Innovation and Technology Solutions team. The purpose of the role is to ensure that insightful information is available across the portfolio to facilitate organisational strategy, support decision making, deliver value and ensure benefits are delivered.

Key Results Areas

  • Governance & Portfolio Control
    • Maintain and continuously improve IT portfolio management frameworks, processes, and governance across programs, projects, and change management.
    • Promote consistent adoption of governance standards by working closely with Project Managers and IT teams, providing guidance and constructive challenge where required.
    • Monitor portfolio performance across programs and projects, ensuring risks, issues, and dependencies are identified, assessed, and effectively managed.
    • Support end-to-end governance cycles, including RAID management, stage gates, and reporting timelines.
    • Coordinate with project and IT managers to track delivery progress, resolve blockers, and support effective management of resources, budgets, and priorities.
    • Identify and manage interdependencies across the portfolio, escalating risks and conflicts to support effective decision-making.
    • Maintain visibility of the portfolio pipeline and forward plan, supporting prioritisation and demand management activities.
  • Reporting, Data & Insights
    • Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards and reporting to support governance, performance management, and decision-making.
    • Provide insightful analysis on portfolio performance, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Produce high-quality reports for senior leadership (SLT), ensuring alignment with organisational standards and best practices.
    • Support accurate and timely completion of project reporting, financial tracking, and forecasting activities.
    • Define and track key IT performance metrics and KPIs, driving continuous improvement.
  • Data Quality, Tools & Capability
    • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of portfolio data across all reporting and governance artefacts.
    • Act as a subject-matter expert for portfolio tools and processes, supporting user adoption and ongoing training.
    • Develop and enhance the use of portfolio management and reporting tools (e.g. dashboards, automation, visualisation).
    • Drive continuous improvement in PMO capability, tools and ways of working across the wider IT function.
  • Stakeholder & PMO Support
    • Facilitate governance forums and meetings, ensuring effective decision-making and tracking actions through to completion.
    • Provide expert support and guidance on portfolio processes, tools, and governance to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Act as a central point of contact for portfolio-related queries, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
    • Support portfolio prioritisation by providing data-driven insight, trade-offs and scenario analysis.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrable knowledge of portfolio management methodologies and project delivery frameworks (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, hybrid).
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience producing high-quality portfolio reporting, MI and insights to support decision-making.
  • Advanced EXCEL skills, including data manipulation, analysis, and reporting (e.g. pivot tables, lookups).
  • Experience of governance processes, including RAID management, reporting cycles, and supporting portfolio controls.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, managing and re-prioritising workloads as required.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and provide constructive challenge where appropriate.
  • Experience in developing, documenting, and improving processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Confident communicator, with experience presenting information clearly and supporting the adoption of new processes and ways of working.
  • High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data and reporting outputs.
  • Experience using portfolio management and collaboration tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence) – desirable.
  • Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI) – desirable.
  • Commercial awareness, with an understanding of value, costs and trade-offs in portfolio decision making.
