We are looking for a detail-focused Assistant Management Accountant to support our Jewson Tool Hire Operations team. In this vital role, you will help ensure that company policies and procedures relating to the Tool Hire process are fully applied, safeguarding our assets and ensuring accurate financial recording. Working alongside a team of accountants, operational colleagues, and business partners, you will play a key part in producing timely, accurate, and insightful financial information. You will also provide proactive commercial support, helping us improve processes, systems, and overall financial performance. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Ensure monthly reporting is completed accurately and on time.
- Manage and monitor compliance of H&S certificates and service schedules.
- Produce ad-hoc financial information to support Tool Hire Operations.
- Record additions and disposals of hire fleet assets within the financial reporting system.
- Ensure supplier invoices are correctly matched to orders and delivery notes, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Verify that fortnightly stock checks on Hire Fleet are completed.
- Reconcile fleet registers to the general ledger each month, ensuring all transactions are reflected accurately.
- Support annual hire fleet stock counts and reconciliation activities.

- Previous experience in Management Accounting, ideally within construction supply, retail, or distribution.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and dashboard creation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence working across multiple functions and with non-finance colleagues.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
