Service Advisor – Automotive Location: Woking, Surrey Salary: £34,000–£40,000 per year, depending on experience and ability Hours: Full Time | Monday to Friday Weekends: No weekend working The Opportunity Starfyn Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced or aspiring Service Advisor to join a successful, long-established independent automotive business based in Woking, Surrey. The business has recently invested significantly in its premises, workshop equipment, and diagnostic technology and is looking for someone who wants to become an important part of the team and build a long-term career within the Motor Trade. As a Service Advisor, you'll act as the crucial link between customers and the workshop, ensuring customers receive a friendly, professional, and efficient service from their initial enquiry through to collecting their vehicle. The Role No two days will be the same. Your responsibilities will include: Welcoming customers into the business and providing excellent customer service Booking vehicles into the workshop Discussing vehicle concerns and requirements with customers Managing the workshop diary Preparing accurate estimates for servicing and repairs Contacting customers to discuss work and obtain authorisation Keeping customers updated on the progress of their vehicle Liaising closely with Vehicle Technicians and Workshop Management Ordering required parts Monitoring workshop workflow and helping ensure work progresses efficiently Preparing invoices and processing customer payments Arranging and managing loan vehicles Assisting with warranty claims Processing returned parts Preparing future workshop schedules Identifying future vehicle maintenance requirements Maintaining accurate customer and vehicle recordsThe workshop undertakes a broad range of work including servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, electrical repairs, air conditioning, hybrid and EV servicing, and MOT preparation and repairs. We're looking for someone who is: Friendly, professional, and confident dealing with customers An excellent communicator Highly organised with strong attention to detail Comfortable working within a busy automotive environment Calm and professional under pressure Able to prioritise their workload effectively Confident using computer systems Reliable, honest, and trustworthy A strong team player Positive and willing to learn Comfortable solving problems and taking responsibility Passionate about delivering excellent customer servicePrevious Motor Trade experience is preferred but isn't essential. We would also be interested in speaking with candidates from strong customer-focused backgrounds such as recruitment, hospitality, retail management, or other fast-paced service environments who are looking to establish a career within the automotive industry.
