Overview
We are looking for an empathetic and energetic PE Teacher to join the Starfyn Education Family in a long‑term, full‑time role. The school caters to students aged 3‑19 with a primary diagnosis of autism, supporting their sensory development and life skills. The role involves assisting children with progress and making a positive difference.
Ideal Candidate
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- ASD & SLD experience
- Experience working with a large cohort of pre‑verbal students, cognitively at EYFS and Year 1 levels
- Understanding and supporting behaviours of concern, high sensory needs
- Knowledge/experience of ASD principles – using visuals, AAC communication, schedules, routines
- Availability to work full time and commitment to a large community
Main Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons catering to children’s specific needs
- Work alongside the PE department and cover curriculum specific to SEN
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment encouraging student participation and growth
- Teach to a cognitive level of EYFS to Year 1
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
- Help to support students with positive behaviours
