We are looking for an inspirational, committed and experienced SENCo to join the Starfyn Education Family in a long‑term, full‑time leadership role within a supportive and inclusive school setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual who is dedicated to ensuring every child reaches their full potential, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The School: One of our partner schools caters for pupils aged 3‑11, including a specialist resource base supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The school prides itself on being a warm, inclusive and forward‑thinking environment, where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning. Staff work collaboratively to create a culture where every child feels safe, supported, and valued. The leadership team is highly supportive and committed to continuous professional development, ensuring staff are well‑equipped to deliver high‑quality, inclusive education.
The Role: Employment Type – Permanent / Long Term. Days Required – Monday to Friday (Full Time). Start Date – September (or sooner where possible). As SENCo, you will play a key role in leading and developing SEND provision across the school, ensuring all pupils receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Have experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a primary setting
- Have completed (or be working towards) the National SENCo Award
- Be passionate about inclusive education and raising outcomes for all pupils
- Have strong leadership and organisational skills
- Be confident working with teachers, parents, and external agencies
- Be able to track progress, analyse data, and implement effective interventions
- Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
Your Main Duties:
- Lead and manage the school's SEND provision, ensuring high‑quality support for all pupils
- Oversee EHCP processes, reviews, and SEND documentation
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure inclusive classroom practices
- Provide training, guidance, and support to staff on SEND strategies
- Monitor and track student progress, implementing targeted interventions
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil outcomes
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding policies
- Contribute to the wider leadership and development of the school
