Starfish Search is supporting a London Borough to appoint an Interim Head of Street Cleaning to lead the borough’s street cleaning service during a period of change and improvement. Reporting into senior leadership, you will provide operational leadership for the service while leading a number of key projects focused on improving delivery, efficiency and resident experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day delivery of the street cleaning service
  • Lead a review of the street cleaning service and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee a replacement programme for litter bins across the borough
  • Lead the implementation of a new bulky waste and fly-tipping service
  • Engage with stakeholders across the council and wider service areas
  • Drive service improvements and ensure high standards of delivery

About you:

  • Strong operational leadership experience within environmental or street services
  • Experience leading frontline services within Local Government
  • Track record delivering service reviews and improvement programmes
  • Experience implementing operational change and service redesign
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Able to lead teams and maintain service performance in a fast-paced environment
