Job Description

Starfish Search is supporting a London local authority to appoint an Interim IT Engineer to help deliver a portfolio of essential infrastructure and end-user technology projects.

We’re looking for a hands-on contractor with strong technical skills – particularly in Autopilot and Windows 11 image builds – who can hit the ground running and support the successful delivery of multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and deploy Windows 11 images using Microsoft Autopilot
Support key projects across network, server, and end-user computing environments
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and desktop issues during rollout
Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery
Provide technical assurance and documentation as needed

About You:

Proven experience with Autopilot and Intune, especially in building and deploying Windows 11 images
Solid background in network infrastructure, Windows Server, and end-user computing
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Confident working independently across multiple IT workstreams
Previous experience in local government or public sector environments is desirable

This opportunity will pay circa £400 per day (Inside IR35).
