Interim Head of Environmental Health

Starfish Search is supporting a Local Authority in the North of England to appoint an Interim Head of Environmental Health to lead the delivery of its Environmental Health Service across the district. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Environmental Health Service across the district Oversee food safety, environmental protection, public health and regulatory enforcement Manage a large multidisciplinary team, including four managers Provide strategic advice on complex Environmental Health and regulatory matters Lead service planning, performance, budgets and continuous improvement Work closely with senior officers, elected Members and external stakeholders Ensure the Council meets its statutory Environmental Health responsibilities About You: Experienced Interim Head of Environmental Health or senior Environmental Health Manager Strong operational and strategic Environmental Health background Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and significant budgets Strong experience of regulatory enforcement and statutory services Qualified and professionally registered in Environmental Health Confident working with senior stakeholders and elected Members Strong understanding of the political and regulatory environment within local government Due to high application volumes, we may not be able to respond to every applicant individually.
