Starfish Search is working with a large Charity seeking a senior Governance Consultant to play a pivotal role at Board and Executive level for the next 3-6 months. This role sits at the heart of the organisation, with responsibility for governance and close involvement in Board and Committee activity. It will suit someone comfortable operating in complex, values-led environments and trusted to advise at the most senior levels.

You will have:

  • A strong track record of leading a corporate governance function, ideally within a charity, membership organisation or similarly regulated environment.
  • Significant experience working closely with Boards and senior executives, including managing sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Experience of developing and embedding governance frameworks, policies and risk management processes.
  • Confidence in providing clear, pragmatic advice on legal, regulatory and best-practice governance matters.
  • Experience of committee and Board support, including agenda planning, papers, decision-making and assurance.

You will bring:

  • A strong understanding of charity governance, company law and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex issues for senior audiences.
  • The credibility and judgement to operate autonomously while building trusted relationships across the organisation.
  • A commitment to high standards of transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.

The organisation operates a hybrid working model, with regular engagement in London and occasional travel nationally, and offers a salary of £76,000 pro-rata.
