Starfish Search is supporting a Local Authority to appoint an Interim Flood Risk Manager to lead and support the delivery of flood risk and water management activity across the borough. Reporting into senior leadership, you will provide specialist expertise and work with internal teams and external partners to manage flood risk, support project delivery and ensure statutory responsibilities are met.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee flood risk management activity across the borough
- Support the development and delivery of flood risk strategies and projects
- Provide specialist advice on planning applications and development proposals
- Work closely with internal teams, consultants and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policy and statutory responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate project delivery, risks and reporting
About you:
- Strong experience within flood risk, drainage or water management
- Experience working within Local Government or a similar environment
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and regulatory requirements
- Experience managing projects and working across multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
