Starfish Search is working with a respected national charity to appoint a visionary Director of Finance and Transformation. This is a pivotal role for an experienced leader who can combine financial expertise with strategic transformation, ensuring long-term sustainability while driving innovation and organisational growth. The Director of Finance and Transformation will provide exceptional leadership across finance, IT and transformation, playing a central role in delivering the charity's ambitious strategy.
Alongside shaping strategy, you will take a hands-on approach to managing, coaching and developing teams, ensuring the function is high-performing, well-supported and equipped to deliver at pace. You will:
- Lead financial planning, controls, and performance management to underpin ambitious growth and service delivery.
- Oversee digital and data transformation, building modern systems and processes that enable efficient, scalable operations.
- Guide the organisation's change agenda, leading programmes and projects that deliver measurable improvement and innovation.
- Own and manage the risk and assurance framework, ensuring trustees and stakeholders have confidence in governance and compliance.
You will have:
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent), with extensive senior-level finance leadership experience.
- A proven track record of working with Boards and trustees, providing insight, assurance and strategic advice to support effective decision-making.
- Experience of leading financial strategy and delivering organisational growth in complex settings.
- A strong background in driving transformation, digital innovation and service improvement at scale.
- Significant experience of team leadership, with the ability to manage, coach and develop staff to build a high-performing function.
- Experience in the charity or social care sector is an advantage but not essential.
This role is running for a period of six months and offers a salary of c.£100,000. This is a home-based role with requirement to work in London occasionally and the ability to travel to locations across England and Wales.
