A highly respected and well-loved national charity, operating at significant scale across the UK, is seeking an exceptional Interim Chief People Officer to lead a major organisational transformation during a pivotal time of change.
As the charity prepares to launch its new 10-year strategy this September, it is undergoing a full refresh of its mission, vision, and values, and developing a new Target Operating Model (TOM) to become a more cohesive, collaborative, and impact-driven organisation. People and culture are central to this transformation.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the CEO and partnering with the Executive Team, the Interim CPO will:
- Lead and deliver the design and implementation of a new TOM, with a strong focus on culture, leadership, and organisational structure.
- Drive complex, fast-paced people-led transformation across a large, distributed workforce.
- Act as a trusted advisor and change agent, supporting executive colleagues to embed cultural and behavioural change aligned with the new strategy.
- Lead the People function through a period of evolution, ensuring alignment of HR, talent, OD, DEI, and employee engagement strategies.
- Navigate a highly matrixed and values-led environment, ensuring the People agenda reflects and enhances the charity’s social mission.
What We’re Looking For:
- A proven senior HR leader with experience as a Chief People Officer, HRD or equivalent in large, complex organisations.
- A track record of successfully leading organisational transformation and designing and implementing TOMs from scratch.
- Significant experience in driving cultural change, leadership development, and organisational design.
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to build credibility quickly at Executive and Board level.
- Sector background is open, experiences across civil society, public sector, or complex private sector organisations are all encouraged, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to values led organisations.
- Energy, resilience, and the ability to drive results at pace in a time of ambiguity and change.
Location: UK (Flexible/Hybrid) 2 days a week in London would be encouraged.
