Starfish Search is supporting a Local Authority in the North to appoint an Interim ERP HR & Payroll Project Manager. This role is part of a major programme replacing a legacy ERP system with a modern, cloud-based solution. You will lead the HR & Payroll workstream, ensuring requirements are clear, solutions are fit for purpose, and delivery meets programme objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the HR & Payroll workstream within the ERP programme
- Manage plans, milestones, risks, and dependencies
- Run requirements workshops and oversee data cleansing/migration
- Ensure statutory compliance (HMRC, pensions, GDPR)
- Support testing phases, including UAT and payroll parallel runs
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders across HR, Finance, and the wider organisation
You will have:
- Proven ERP implementation experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar) in HR & Payroll
- Strong knowledge of HR & Payroll processes and statutory requirements
- Public sector or local government experience
- Ability to manage complex programmes with multiple dependencies
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Familiarity with PRINCE2 or Agile methodologies
