Starfish Search is supporting a Local Authority in the North of England to appoint an Interim Head of Environmental Health to lead the delivery of its Environmental Health Service across the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Environmental Health Service across the district
- Oversee food safety, environmental protection, public health and regulatory enforcement
- Manage a large multidisciplinary team, including four managers
- Provide strategic advice on complex Environmental Health and regulatory matters
- Lead service planning, performance, budgets and continuous improvement
- Work closely with senior officers, elected Members and external stakeholders
- Ensure the Council meets its statutory Environmental Health responsibilities
About You:
- Experienced Interim Head of Environmental Health or senior Environmental Health Manager
- Strong operational and strategic Environmental Health background
- Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and significant budgets
- Strong experience of regulatory enforcement and statutory services
- Qualified and professionally registered in Environmental Health
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and elected Members
- Strong understanding of the political and regulatory environment within local government
