Starfish Search is supporting a London Borough to appoint an Interim Project Manager. This is a key technical and project leadership role within Highway Operations, responsible for delivering complex public realm and highways schemes. The postholder will lead end-to-end project delivery across a diverse portfolio including highways, drainage, traffic engineering, structures and road safety.
You will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality, compliant and efficient delivery of infrastructure projects, working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and the public.
You will:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of highways projects
- Manage project programmes, risks and resources
- Oversee contractors, ensuring quality and compliance
- Provide technical advice on highways engineering and traffic management
- Manage contracts, procurement and project budgets
- Engage effectively with stakeholders, members and residents
You will have:
- Proven experience delivering highways or public realm projects
- Strong knowledge of highways standards and relevant legislation
- Experience managing contractors and contracts within a public sector environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
