The Senior Sales Development Representative is responsible for generating high-quality discovery meetings and early-stage pipeline for the global sales organisation, with primary focus on the UK & EMEA. This role sits at the front of the revenue engine and owns the identification, engagement, and qualification of compliance leaders at regulated financial institutions. This is not a junior execution role. The Senior SDR is expected to operate with autonomy, strong commercial judgment, and understanding of regulatory compliance challenges. You will be involved in targeted outbound motions, convert inbound demand efficiently, and act as a trusted first point of contact for senior compliance stakeholders. You will also contribute to improving team performance through feedback, best-practice sharing, and informal coaching.
Responsibilities
- Own outbound and inbound prospecting for assigned UK and EMEA accounts, with a focus on regulated financial institutions.
- Book qualified discovery meetings for Senior Sales Executives that convert into solution validation and pipeline.
- Engage senior compliance stakeholders including Heads of Compliance, Trade Surveillance Officers, Employee Compliance Managers, and Regulatory Leads.
- Run personalised, compliant outreach across email, phone, LinkedIn, and other approved channels.
- Qualify prospects using clear criteria around regulatory pressure, operational risk, audit exposure, and buying intent.
- Articulate StarCompliance's value across employee conduct, trade surveillance, MNPI management, whistleblowing, and accountability regimes.
- Maintain accurate and disciplined CRM hygiene in Salesforce, including activity logging, qualification notes, and next steps.
- Meet or exceed monthly targets for discovery meetings, solution validations influenced, and pipeline contribution.
- Partner closely with Senior Sales Executives to ensure clean handoffs and strong meeting quality.
- Provide feedback on messaging, objections, and market signals to Sales, Marketing, and Product.
- Act as a role model for best practice SDR execution and support onboarding or coaching of newer SDRs when required.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an SDR or BDR in B2B SaaS, ideally selling into financial services, risk, compliance, or regtech.
- Strong outbound prospecting capability with evidence of consistent meeting and pipeline creation.
- Comfortable engaging senior, risk-aware buyers and holding structured business conversations.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills, particularly in concise, professional outreach.
- Strong call discipline with confident opening statements, objection handling, and qualification.
- Data-driven mindset with comfort using metrics to improve performance.
- Experience working closely with SSE's and operating within a structured sales process.
- Self-directed, accountable, and able to prioritise high-impact work without close supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 to 4+ years of experience in Sales Development or a related commercial role.
- Experience selling B2B software into mid-market or enterprise organisations.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, ideally; Salesforce, Gong, Apollo, SalesNav.
- Based in the UK with the ability to support UK and EMEA time zones.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
