The Account Manager is a key role within the Planning team, acting as the connection between junior and senior leadership. AM’s ensure the day-to-day ‘engine room’ functions efficiently by leading campaign activation, reporting and team coordination. They line-manage and take on responsibility for their direct reports. They uphold excellence in deliverables, meet deadlines whilst acting as the key points of contact across the account internally and with junior clients.

Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, fostering a ‘one team’ culture.
  • Media Planning: Demonstrate expertise in media planning fundamentals, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and detail.
  • Innovation and Change: Embrace change and push for innovative solutions that drive client success.
  • Market Understanding: Have a deep understanding of the gaming market and the communities that influence game releases.
  • End-to-End Leadership: Lead end-to-end media planning responses, showcasing strong channel knowledge and the ability to engage senior clients. Manage timelines, budgets, and campaign performance reporting: Often requiring to switch between brands and manage several work streams.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of media channels, and their applicable role in a media plan.
  • Ability to build strong, trusted relationships with junior clients.
  • Experience in mentoring and guiding junior members of the team, with the view to begin to have their own first direct reports.
  • Confidence running mid-level campaigns from client brief to execution and post campaign analysis (using the necessary audience and industry planning tools).
  • Ability to demonstrate ‘brilliant basics’, and contribute to the team delivering excellence every day.
  • Clear enthusiasm and engagement in wider agency initiatives and opportunities.
  • Clear interest in building Starcom's reputation, positive relationships with media owners and partner agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills - the planning team sit at the heart of many other media teams, and coordinating various work streams in a skilled and efficient manner is imperative.
