With a history that dates back over 80 years, Starcom is a global communications planning and media leader. We are an agency still grounded in our founding principle that people are at the centre of all we do. Each day, we apply this belief to harness the transformative power of data and technology to inspire and move people and business forward. With more than 7,000 employees in over 100 offices around the world, we are the flagship Publicis Media agency that uses our ‘Power of One’ business model, with teams that span multiple disciplines across clients such as Aldi, P&G, P&O Ferries, Primark, Samsung, Stellantis, and Visa.

The Digital Client Lead role will take overall responsibility for client leadership, digital output, and commercial ownership across a portfolio of consumer-focused clients, with a predominant focus on Enterprise Mobility and Ancestry. You will take overall responsibility for senior client stakeholder management, strategic direction, and activation excellence. You will ensure that each of your clients is commercially sound, with plans in place to drive incremental revenue for Publicis, develop and implement a cross-sale and up-sale strategy, and ensure team costs are managed in line with wider business priorities.

This varied role would suit an experienced performance practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their career by taking full responsibility for their book of business. This role requires an experienced leader with deep, hands-on experience of leading Performance Marketing programs. Experience in scaled team leadership would be critical as you would be responsible for a team of around 25-30. As a key leader in the department, you would also have key responsibility for driving forward departmental priorities and initiatives, including ownership of new business pitches, developing new skillsets and driving digital transformation, defining the role of AI within performance marketing, delivering cost efficiencies through offshoring and more.

Responsibilities

  • Become a strategic partner to our senior digital stakeholders and internal partners.
  • Drive short- and long-term revenue growth for our clients through a combination of strategic leadership and ensuring activation excellence in delivery.
  • Flawless client servicing, measured by third party surveys and direct feedback.
  • Ensure we have clear commercial plans in place for our clients, with revenue growth and cost management considerations.
  • Lead on performance/digital specific pitches, and play a key leadership role in multi-disciplinary pitches as required.
  • Develop our paid digital capability in tandem with other departmental leads.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have significant experience in a performance marketing role, ideally as a Business Director or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience across paid search in particular would be advantageous, given weighting of budgets in this channel.
  • This role will require experience in handling communication and workstreams across multiple client stakeholders & internal teams, so you must be an exceptional communicator and enjoy collaborating and building work relationships.

Must Have

  • Minimum 10 year’s experience in a performance media role, with proven experience in client leadership and strong digital performance knowledge across Paid Search, Programmatic & Paid Social.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to engage with multiple client contacts & internal team members.
  • Ability to build relationships with third parties and working collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Operational experience working on large multi-market accounts with numerous stakeholders, goals and priorities.
  • A critical thinker in your day-to-day and able to operate independently to solve challenges and navigate novel situations.
  • Be solution driven, innovative and proactive with how you manage planning & operational processes.
  • Be strategic and commercially minded in planning goals for your teams, as well as being able to shape and develop paid media strategy with client’s business goals in mind.
