We’re looking for a project accountant to join our team here at Starbucks UK until the end of June 2026. A place where you’re valued, challenged, and inspired. Where your voice is brewed into everything we do. At Starbucks, we’re all about you.
As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for working closely with UK Commercial Finance, EMEA & US teams to deliver successful outcomes and maintain strong financial controls across strategic initiatives, system implementations, and process automation projects. This role combines project accounting with some month-end and reporting responsibilities.
We’ll look to you to bring your leadership experience in accounting at a large, multi-site operational, ideally in retail or hospitality. You’ll be ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified with post qualification experience leading a team. You’ll have knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS with strong understanding of management accounting and financial controls. Ideally, you’ll have strong system skills with previous experience working with large ERP accounting and reporting systems such as Oracle and Anaplan XL.

Working as our project accountant, you’ll get involved in:
- Acting as a key leader within the UK accounting team, leading on project-related accounting and reporting activities.
- Delivering key reporting, providing insightful analysis and recommendations, while maintaining strong reporting controls.
- Developing and supporting the team of accountants, ensuring that all tasks and processes are completed and deadlines met.
- Developing and maintaining accounting systems and processes to produce timely management accounts in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS. Ensuring accuracy and completeness for P&L and Balance Sheet reporting.
- Leading initiatives to automate and streamline accounting processes, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across reporting and project activities.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders to assess accounting impacts of operational initiatives, unusual transactions, new agreements, and projects.
- Overseeing project-related financial close activities, including accurate journal postings and identifying any issues impacting financial reporting.
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and producing cash flow forecasts in line with the latest working capital projections.
- Producing monthly and quarterly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow variance analysis and commentary with related supporting schedules.
