The Health & Safety & Risk, Senior Manager serves as a strategic representative of Global Security & Risk (GS&R) championing initiatives that advance partner safety and operational risk management across Starbucks operated and licensed markets EMEA. This leader builds and sustains high-impact relationships with senior cross-functional stakeholders and licensee counterparts, ensuring alignment and collaboration across diverse business environments. They are a skilled communicator and trusted advisor, known for navigating complexity and ambiguity with confidence and clarity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide strategic leadership for Health & Safety across EMEA supporting both company operated and Licensed markets through proactive risk management and compliance initiatives.
- Partner with Licensee business leaders to ensure alignment with Starbucks H&S standards and local regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Lead and oversee complex projects relevant to H&S and risk, ensuring timely delivery, measurable impact and cross functional alignment.
- Own the annual insurance renewal and submission process, collaborating with global and regional stakeholders to ensure accuracy, coverage adequacy and risk transparency.
- Ensure all H&S and risk related policies, procedures and standards are current, relevant and effectively communicated across the region.
- Represent GS&R in regional forums, regulatory engagement and industry networks to advocate for best practice and influence external standards.
- Develop and empower high-performing teams through strategic leadership, coaching, and continuous growth opportunities.
- Influencing at all levels, from frontline partners to senior leadership, through clear, compelling communication and strategic storytelling.
- Achieving team development through tailored coaching, clear goal setting, and fostering a culture of continuous feedback and learning.
- Driving cross functional collaboration to assess, measure and mitigate risk across diverse operational environments.
- Thriving in ambiguity, adapting quickly to change and guiding others through complex or evolving situations.
- Developing and presenting business cases that connect risk mitigation to commercial outcomes and customer/partner well being.
- Building and leveraging strong network internally and externally to share insights, benchmark performance and foster innovations and H&S practices.
- Championing Starbucks mission to deliver exceptional customer experience and a safe, inclusive environment for customers, partners and visitors across EMEA.
- Serving as the regional subject matter expert for Health, Safety & Risk, providing strategic guidance and thought leadership across operated and Licensed markets.
- Conducting field visits across EMEA including overnight travel as needed to assess risk, support partners and strengthen local capabilities.
- Demonstrating flexibility and agility in working hours to meet the dynamic needs of a fast paced, multi-market business.
- Holding advanced Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH General Certificate, National Diploma, General Certificate, NVQ Level 3 and/or IOSH Managing Safety with a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Utilising an extensive professional network to drive strategic partnerships and business growth.
- Applying strong commercial acumen to connect safety and risk strategies with business outcomes.
- Demonstrating a growth mindset, embracing challenges as opportunities to innovate and improve.
- Operating with autonomy and accountability, consistently delivering solutions that are practical, scalable and customer/partner focused.
- Gaining alignment and buy-in from your line manager and strategic partners before initiating changes to key programs – ensuring clarity, shared ownership and sustained impact.
- We have a flexible working policy. Meaning 50% of the time we collaborate with each other in our London office and the rest of the time you may choose to work remotely.
- Depending on your portfolio, travel to other locations may be required occasionally. We will work with you to ensure this fits your home life.
