We’re looking for a payroll specialist to join our team here at Starbucks on a 6 month FTC. A place where you’re valued, challenged, and inspired. Where your voice is brewed into everything we do. At Starbucks, we’re all about you.
As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for processing accurate and timely payments for hourly pad and salaried partners (employees) on a four weekly pay cycle.
We’ll look to you to bring your experience of large volume payroll in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment. You’ll have strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation with the ability to demonstrate manual calculations of tax, NI and statutory payments. We’ll also love to hear about your strong knowledge of Excel, alongside ideally having experience of working with SAP Global View and ADP. Ideally you’ll be CIPP (or equivalent) qualified, but more importantly you’ll have the ability to work to tight deadlines, be able to troubleshoot processes and look at ways we can continuously improve our processes.
About
- Preparation of the retail store payroll, liaising with the wider HR team to ensure all personal and payroll data is collated and input using Partner Central.
- Working with ADP to resolve any discrepancies that may be encountered during each payroll period.
- Processing and validating the 4 weekly Quinyx timecard data from retail stores and ensuring all data is received by the payroll deadlines.
- Managing payroll queries and time data corrections from retail stores and support centre teams. Liaising with stakeholders as required to actively support in root cause solutions to reduce the number of payroll queries.
- Collating payroll data on a 4 weekly basis, including calculating and processing statutory payments of SMP, SPP, SSP and company sick pay. As well as processing Tax, NI and benefit scheme deductions.
- Updating and maintaining personnel and payroll records within Partner Central and ADP Global View, including processing and inputting tax documents, P45s and new starter documents.
- Maintaining payroll process documents, ensuring payroll compliance and all pay policies are updated accordingly.
- Ensuring accurate maintenance of statutory data through regular data cleansing and running reports to identify potential issues and rectifying any discrepancies.
- Calculating and payment of off‑cycle payments (advances, holiday pay, termination payments).
- Assisting the payroll manager with period end routines, including preparation and reconciliation of payroll balance sheet accounts and finance monthly reporting requirements, keeping accurate records of resolutions for audit purposes.
- Collating data to ensure the correct calculation of pension contributions under Auto Enrolment.
- Liaising with third parties to enable the transfer of information between different systems.
- Communicating with Starbucks outsourced payroll provider to ensure that the results are included in the appropriate payroll run, with changes to pension auto enrolment status processed in an accurate and timely manner
- Support in delivering payroll business projects, including data gathering, process design, testing and reporting.
- Ensuring all third party payments are made in a timely and accurate manner
